Idk, even from this point of the story it was kinda obvious the mangaka was teasing some possibilities to grow and develop into the background, Tanjiro holds quite the fascination with her overall and he just helped her with her first great step back to normalcy, which sparked her own fascination with him, even though she was already positively impressed with his progress during the training.

I know, I was trying to be subtle...and only discuss what had already been revealed even in the anime...sure, they omitted the mangaka's wink at the end of Kanao's flashback where, in reply to Kanae telling her that once she falls in love with some boy she'll stop needing the coin, the mangaka drew an apparently random panel with Tanjiro travelling...but the rest hinted enough at these two goofs being interested in each other

Correct me if i’m wrong but doesn’t he fear the Hanafuda earrings because it is a sign of sun breathing style practitioner? He also has PTSD to when he was defeated by Yoriichi who was a sun breathing style user which is why he is traumatised by those earrings.

I know he fears what stands behind the earrings, clearly Yoriichi too, but he also clearly underestimates both Tanjiro and the DS Corps. It's noticeable in his attitude towards this situation, as well as in what keeps happening all the way to the very end. We're all aware that individually the slayers can't do much against most of the Upper Moons, much less Muzan himself, but it's the fact that they team up and constantly work to improve their methods and techniques that...well...leads to the finale we got in the manga. And they put their heads together to eat away at him, to the point that he should've really feared far more than the Hanafuda Earrings, because it took more than them for the end result, even for Muzan's Last Ditch Effort, there were 4 crazy ladies indirectly piling up their efforts on him..
